5 Ways to Layer Your Fïve Jewelry for a Bold Look

At Fïve, we don't think of jewelry piece by piece, but as a wardrobe you build up as you go. Here are five ways to layer your pieces for a bolder look, without ever overdoing it.

1. Ear stacking: mix cuffs, hoops and studs

It's the easiest kind of layering to adopt, even without multiple piercings. An ear cuff like Lisa or Bahia slips onto the ear with no extra piercing needed, paired with a small hoop or stud on the lobe. The trick: vary sizes rather than shapes, to keep the set cohesive.

2. Hoops in a duo, two different sizes

On the same ear, pair a medium hoop like Sarah with a smaller one in second position. The depth effect works better than two identical pieces, and stays wearable every day, hair up or down.

3. Necklace layering: play with lengths

The golden rule of necklace layering: never pair two identical lengths. Start with a short piece like Daria worn as a choker, add a mid-length like Niv, then finish with a longer piece like Jenny that closes the set over the chest. Three lengths, three different widths, one single gesture.

4. A statement ring, and nothing else on the hand

Layering doesn't mean piling everything on. A piece like the Frankie ring worn alone on a bare hand has more impact than lost among other rings. Keep the other hand free, or with just one thin piece: the contrast does all the work.

5. Mix worlds, not just metals

The real secret to a bold look is mixing shapes rather than matching everything: a graphic hoop, a minimalist cuff, a necklace loaded with symbolism. The common thread is you, not which collection each piece comes from.

What about care?

Most Fïve pieces are hypoallergenic, water-resistant stainless steel, so nothing stops you from keeping your stack on from morning to night (shower and workout included). We have a few exceptions in the collection, in 925 silver: for those pieces, same idea but with a bit more care. Remove before showering or exercising, and a polishing cloth now and then is enough to keep their shine.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need multiple piercings to do ear stacking?
No, ear cuffs give you exactly that effect with no extra piercing needed: they slip directly onto the cartilage.

How do I stop my layered necklaces from tangling?
By always varying the lengths: never two necklaces the same length together. A gap of at least 5cm between each piece greatly reduces knots.

Can I mix gold and silver when layering?
Yes, completely: mixing tones is now part of the style itself, no longer a rule to avoid.
